How did I get here? Not to long ago I went all in on the fad that is custom keyboards. I bought myself a Keychron Q1 Pro and modded it a bit for some better sound and feel. It really became an awesome typing experience.
At the moment I am also studying part time besided my fulltime job so I am typing more than ever and I believe this is what has led me to have wrist pain.

How to manage dotfiles on multiple computers Dotfiles and hidden files in a unix system is where your userbased configuration resides, managing them can be problematic and error prone if not done right.
I used to manage this by tracking all my files in git and cloning the repository down into a folder like ~/.dotfiles and then making symbolic links or simply copying the files to the correct location.

Docker to compartmentalize your local system. At work people have changed to MacOs and the transition has not been entirely painless for all.
Some tools aren’t working as they expected it too others are not easily available from package managers as HomeBrew. As an example the sshpass utility is not installable this way since it’s deemed a security risk by the people behind homebrew. You can get around this by installing sshpass from random peoples github through homebrew but that feels a little sketchy, you could track down the source code and build it yourself on the system.

Moving from Emacs to VsCode

What do I even know about Emacs? I have been an avid Emacs user for about 12 years. In that time I have curated a decently extensive Emacs config file both for stock emacs and for the spacemacs config.
My config before moving to spacemacs was around 1200 lines including comments etc. Before moving to VsCode my .spacemacs file was 770 lines including a lot of comments.
In comparison my VsCode settings.

Back to being an Apple fanboy Back when I was studying software development I was using a MacBook had an iPhone and was quite pleased with the Apple eco system.
Then i got my first job where I could not even get a second monitor or even one in a 16:9 inch format, as the old IT guy i was being hired to replace had this idea that people could not handle more screen realestate than what a simple 17 inch 4:3 monitor provided albeit this was 10 years ago I still remember it as an odd hill to die on.

Keychron Q1 Pro - custom mods.

The Keychron Q1 Pro The Q1 Pro is a very well built mechanical keyboard. Actually it is better than most keyboards out of the box. For about many years the Das Keyboard professional 4 have been my daily driver and I was quite pleased with it’s performance.
In the process of switching to MacOs a colleague decided he wanted a better keyboard to match the experience. At first I was reluctant and planned on just keep using my DasKeyboard with my macbook while it was connected to the dock, but something itched in the back of my head, so I decided to a little research on keyboards.
